David Dethier wins QG&G Distinguished Career Award

Prof. David Dethier has won the 2017 Geological Society of America Quaternary Geology and Geomorphology Division’s Distinguished Career Award. The award recognizes “Quaternary geologists and geomorphologists who have demonstrated excellence in their contributions to science.”

Formal presentation of the award will take place Tuesday, October 24 at 7 PM, during the QG&G awards ceremony at the GSA Annual Meeting in Seattle. (The ceremony is open and free to attend.) Paul Bierman ’85, a former thesis student of David’s who led the nomination process, will serve as citationist.

This is an extraordinary achievement and a very well-deserved award. Congratulations, David!
