Rock Blast: Excavation of the New North Science Building

A big thank you and shout out to Williams Director of Videography Jay Corey, who made this phenomenal video of rock blasting at the site of our future new home. The North Science Center should be completed in about two years.

For reference, the large blankets are made from old tires and weigh 15,000 lbs each – they dampen the shock wave and tamp down flying debris.  We estimate they got thrown up 10-15 feet by the blast. If you watch the slo-mo closely, you’ll see the triggering charge travel down the line too!
